Dr. Russell is a Buffalo native and received her BS from the University at Buffalo before moving to New York City to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York College of Optometry. Throughout her optometric training, she developed an interest in glaucoma and competed a residency in ocular disease at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System in Brooklyn, NY. She then went on to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) in 2019. To further expand her knowledge and passion for glaucoma, she spent an additional year of training in the glaucoma service at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City. There, she worked alongside top glaucoma specialists to manage complicated cases with a focus on surgical and normal tension glaucoma.
Dr. Russell provides medical eye care with a clinical focus in glaucoma. She works in conjunction with Dr. Niles for patients requiring surgical intervention. Dr. Russell is excited to be back in Buffalo and is a current member of the Western New York Society of Optometrists.
