Thomas Guttuso, M.D.

Dr. Thomas Guttuso is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Guttuso graduated from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed his internship at the U.S. Navy Hospital in St. Albans, N.Y. He then served with the Lt. Medical Corps in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964 and completed his ophthalmology residency at the E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital in 1967.

Dr. Guttuso was a professor and, eventually, chairman of the Ophthalmology Department at the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). He was also a founder of SUNY Buffalo’s Ophthalmology Department. Dr. Guttuso was the assistant dean and the director of admissions for the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. He is currently the president of the SUNY Buffalo Medical Alumni Association.

Dr. Guttuso has been in practice at Ophthalmology Associates of Western New York since 2001.
